Cape May - I am a senior government official currently serving in Afghanistan. While on my R&R recently, I spent a week in Cape May with my family. Growing up, we had a summer house in Avalon and I have always enjoyed my time at the beach. I did not enjoy the beaches in Cape May. We encountered rude and condescending beach tag checkers where we learned that there are different beach tags for beaches in Cape May. We also learned that we could not enjoy certain beaches in Cape May due to the wildlife refuge. We spent our time crammed into (Coney Island) with the other people. Never again.
