Cape May - Here is a great example regarding the logic and use of reciprocal tariffs. Consider this, I have a huge trade deficit with my barber. I keep giving him money for haircuts, but he doesn’t buy anything from me in return! So I’m going to slap a tariff on him. In turn, he raises my price, so I have to pay even more for my haircuts. Sounds ridiculous right? Of course it does. Can you make any comparisons currently coming out of the White House? Of course you can. Tariffs do not work, most especially those reciprocal in nature in global commerce.
