Cape May - As per The Herald story about Stone Harbor planning to remove sand from the low tide mark and place that sand at the high tide area of the beach is again, another quick fix that won't work. Removing sand from the low tide mark will create a deep drop-off. Over time, the wave action will create this drop. I understand the need to protect our beaches and beachfronts, but this issue will never go away. I live in Cape May and the shore break creates the drop-off and shortly after replenishment projects, our beaches are not safe. Mother Nature wins every time.
