Cape May - The fire chief of Cape May went to council and complained that 17 firefighters does not meet federal standards. Let the federal government pay for any additional as the 17 already working is breaking the bank. It is a shame that they put the volunteers out of business, whereby ensuring the need and resulting in job security for those who are career orientated. Another cost saving measure would be to privatize the ambulance and hire AtlantiCare, since they are already serving as back up to those firefighters with EMT certification. Think of the savings to the taxpayers.
