I am proud to be a part of the Democratic Party of diversity and inclusion, the party that elected the nation’s first African American president, the party that legalized gay marriage, and the party that fights for the underdog. If we appear smug, it is in reaction to the President Trump Republican Party, devoid of any guiding principles, and its members of Congress, with no political courage or backbone.
