Cape May - A Crest spouter asked readers if they ever had anyone spit in their faces, apparently in reference to the Wildwood police officer who allegedly punched a guy in the face. If the guy spit in the officer's face, he deserved to get punched. I can remember walking through the airport in uniform and having screaming people spit in my face and call my comrades and I baby killers when we came home from Vietnam. I couldn't punch them, but they too deserved it. How much do some people expect can be tolerated until they provoke a severe and violent response? No one will ever spit in my face again.
