Cape May - Councilman Meier in Cape May needs to understand it's not airing dirty laundry, it's called transparency. The last time compensation was authorized for a salaried employee in the police department, it resulted in the demotion of the police chief and an $800,000 bill to the taxpayers. The 3-2 council act like they didn't know what was going on when residents objected to the building being constructed on Washington St. The previous mayor would never have done that.
