Cape May - The City of Cape May recently invited attorney James Maley to educate Cape May citizens on redevelopment laws. He also demonstrated how city government can arbitrarily change city boards and commissions to implement an agenda without citizen participation. Maybe this explains the Sept. 4 City Council vote of 3-2 in favor to remove and replace four commissioners of the housing authority effective immediately. It is as outrageous as it is callous and mean, and orchestrated without full council knowledge. A councilman who voted yes is standing for re-election in November.
