Cape May - The city of Cape May has promoted pedestrians walking into incoming traffic without even pausing and looking first. It’s insane. I just witnessed a pedestrian approach a cross walk and signal to an approaching car to stop before they entered the crosswalk, as if the car should hit their brakes without passing through at the same moment the person reached the curb. Cape May has promoted this with signs calling for vehicles to stop when pedestrians are in the cross walk (of course?!) but apparently needs signs reminding pedestrians to pause to be sure the crosswalk is clear before walking.
