Cape May - At Cape May's council meeting, the mayor's apology to Chief Marino was spiteful and unnecessary. Marino didn't leap-frog to chief. Six officers were eligible to take the test, and they all did. Four of them passed the test. There were four candidates because two tied exactly for third. Those four were interviewed by council. A contract was negotiated in good faith over a few months. Was Marino supposed to wait a year and a half for a contract? Anyone in a union would say that's not fair. Leave the CMPD alone, they will be fine.
