Cape May - Cape May Beach police at Mt. Vernon Beach wanted my family and me to pay $26 to just walk down to the water. We had no chairs or beach equipment. We visit Walt's bench often and wanted to share our special beach for a few moments with our family, and then show them the rest of our town. The officer asked if anyone was a veteran and we said our son did five deployments in Irag and one in Afghanistan as an army ranger and is currently Army National Guard. We, as his parents, consider ourselves to be veterans along with him.
