Cape May - All those people clenching their pearls over the Real ID and blaming President Trump, allow me to give you a history lesson. The Real ID was first proposed after 9/11 for advanced security. It was pushed by the Department of Homeland Security under Bush, Obama, and Trump's first term. The deadline happened to fall during President Biden's term and he extended it. President Trump doesn't want this t o drag on forever so he's refusing to extend the deadline again. This is yet another mess dumped in President Trump's lap and he's the one solely taking the blame.
