There are many Californians, most of whom are tech workers, that are moving (legally) to Mexico City to enjoy the much lower cost of living and are working remotely. Rent is about 1/4 of what it is in LA or San Francisco. The city's locals don't like it, say that there is too much English being spoken in their city, and are calling it "colonialism" and an "invasion". Ironic isn't it...
