Cape May

To the spouter who wrote that the overwhelming number of people who voted for a more equitable method of sharing the costs of LCMR have no ties to the area, you couldn't be more wrong. Most of these families lived here when LCMR was created, with the understanding that the costs would be shared on a per-student basis. In 1975, N.J. changed the allocation requirement to assessed property values, and in 1993, N.J. reversed the ruling to per-student, assessed values, or any combination, but Lower Township, who had control of the school board, would not even discuss a fair cost sharing method.
