Recently a government official in DC repeatedly avoided using the term "mother" and instead repeatedly used the term "birthing person'. Just curious--- what is the point? Whose feelings are comforted by that new term? Whose feelings are offended? Why was it necessary to redefine a word that has been in common use since before Stonehenge was built?
