All machines need a few minutes to "warm up". To just start your engine, put it in gear and not give it a few minutes for the oils to lubricate all those moving parts gives the car manufactures and dealers a big smile on their faces. Also, waiting for 5000 miles or more to change the oil keeps them smiling too.
