Cape May Point - NJ Route 55 was started in the late 1960's to connect the Philly area with the Jersey Shore because they knew even back then that Route 47 was inadequate. It's still not complete after almost 60 years and people die in the unfinished Route 55 corridor all the time! Only in New Jersey! Trees over people!
