I've visited several local restaurants that won't accept more than 2 or 3 credit cards per table and they won't issue separate checks. This is an inconvenience for many people. My wife and I usually dine with 2 or 3 other couples, so this means 1 or 2 couples need to pay cash. Most people don't carry much cash, and prefer to use credit cards because of the convenience and benefits (miles or cashback). If using more than 2 or 3 credit cards to pay a single restaurant check is more costly (and I doubt it is), then they should consider issuing two or more separate checks per table.
