'Ive read some spout offs asking “why” about the arches. You could ask the very same question for just about every Victorian house in Cape May. Why build the Physick Estate with all that extra trim, gingerbread, and upside down chimneys, why does the chalfonte look like a lace curtain? Why does the Abbey have a large ‘barely functional’ tower? The answer is someone wanted to design something special, not just a box with an A frame roof. And that is what makes Cape May special. I thank they City and those who contributed for wanting to do something special.
