With the increase of distracted driving, I want to commend the City of Cape May for painting the crosswalks in the neighborhood of Village Green. Although every intersection throughout the town should have the white lines for pedestrian crossing, at least this is a start. Drivers have been disregarding the stop signs in Village Green for as long as I have been here, 40+ years, but the defined lines of a crosswalk at least gives pedestrians a chance to safely cross.
