I agree that Mayor Mahaney ran this town with an iron fist, and that some decisions he made during his first seven years were not good for Cape May (e.g., the Temple contract). However, I question why a majority of the other four council members didn't stop the mayor from making these questionable decisions? The mayor has no more power than any other council member under the present form of Cape May City government.
