Cape May County - While watching the 4 p.m. news Aug. 14, I saw the incident in Philadelphia where six police officers were shot. First and foremost, with non-life threatening injuries but as this was unfolding one has to think that all officers in Philadelphia are deserving of salaries that are paid to officers here in Cape May County. Those officers in that city each and every day put their lives on the line. We are fortunate in Cape May County not to have to deal with that. Our officers patrol but are not in harm's way like there. This is something to think about.
