Cape May County - In response to the Herald article A Good Teacher, Who Can Find? the statement “It seems like no one wants to be a teacher anymore.” is very factual! Covid has caused a great deal of controversies over education and young people don’t want to deal with it. Teachers give a lot of themselves and get very little in return! Especially when school administrators and teachers unions don’t give them support! Hiring those with temporary teaching certificates is not the answer! Furthermore, the NJEA union has been working with BOE’s to get teachers to retire to offer starting salaries of $60K.
