Cape May County - Re: spouts about any volunteer fire department in Cape May County, rising cost of state and federal regulations are causing taxes to go up. Fire departments are leaving towns to help other fire departments because of lack of members. If you want to know why something is happening in a department, training, or in a firehouse then my suggestion is to grab an application. Spend 240 hours in fire school, go to training twice a week, meetings once a month, twice a month work details, fundraisers on weekends and the 3 a.m. wake-up call while working a full-time job and maintaining family life.
