Cape May County - RE: School Boards Grappling w/ Complex Issues. I appreciate the article. It is probably a good thing school boards are becoming more responsive to the community that elects them . However, a roadblock that needs to change is the State Dept. of Ed. is full of unelected people that enact all kinds of mandates. The Dept. of Ed. is dictatorial and its powers need to be greatly restricted so that parents/voters have more of a say in how their schools are run.
