Cape May County - I thought Cape May County took great pride in their treatment of their veterans, but to my surprise when l tried to get a photo ID I was informed that because I didn't have a N.J. driver's license or a voter ID card from Cape May County, I was not eligible. The thing I don't understand is I pay taxes on a home in Cape May County, I lived in this county for over 40 years and worked for ACE for 30 years. Can anyone tell me why the politicians would deny a veteran a photo ID just because they were not registered to vote in this county?

Moderator's Note:
According to County Clerk Rita Fulginiti, "The enabling legislation requires that the veteran apply for the veterans ID card in the N.J. county where he or she is domiciled. In this case, we cannot provide a veteran's ID card because (even though the veteran is a second homeowner in Cape May County) he is domiciled in another state. We appreciate this veteran's service to our country."
