On the evening of 9/11/01 everyone in my neighborhood near DC ca

Cape May County - On the evening of 9/11/01 everyone in my neighborhood near DC came out of their homes and walked together. We didn’t all know each other and it wasn’t planned. It just happened. Those that couldn’t walk stood in their doorways. The next day we got back up. I never forgot that.
I have met first responders here in NJ who drove to NYC to help that day. You won’t hear it from them but from someone else who knew them then.
I never forgot that either.
