What a mess when those utility flags are left to rot in the ground. They serve a crucial purpose befor, but once the project is done, leaving them behind just looks sloppy and lazy. It’s not just an eyesore either — they can confuse future crews, and over time they end up as litter. The responsibility should absolutely fall on either the contractor who requested the mark-out or the utility locating company that put them in. Just like you’re expected to restore a worksite when a job's done, cleaning up those flags should be part of closing out a project.
