We had a very nice system at one time. Bottling/Beverage companies used glass bottles that had a small payment associated with their return, and those down on their luck, or looking to make a few dollars would scoop up and eliminate any strays from the landscape. Then came the plastic bottle. Hopefully the discovery of micro plastics in human heart tissue is a wake up call it’s time to stop plastics and go back to what worked in the past.. Metals can work, but they are not inert, glass is. The oceans are where the problem lies, yet fools want to clutter it further. Typical politicians.
