Sure do miss the old days around here. Back when Rio Grande was largely farms and open space. Back when cottages dotted the islands instead of condos. Back when kids played in the street and yelled car to clear the way. We as a society have forgotten how good those days truly were. When families all ate at grandma's house on Sunday. When family football games were more important than the NFL. When neighbors helped neighbors instead of demonizing them. It only took twenty years to forget who we were as a county. Twenty years to forget loving your neighbor and your small town living.
