Cape May County reap what you sow. Millennials were pushed out by unlivable wages and housing costs they couldn’t compete with in their own hometown. The county is now the oldest in New Jersey with a median age of 53 and the only county still losing population. The worker shortage is not a mystery. As a millennial housewife I could work seasonally but I have no interest in supporting employers who made sure my generation couldn’t afford to stay. I’m here for the scenery. Atlantic County will get my time and talent.
