Cape May County is becoming a resort area and many families have been forced to leave due to the rising cost of living in CMC. With the loss of children, our schools need to be consolidated to reduce the taxes. We have 6 schools for k-6 in lower township, WCM and Cape May and that breaks down to a building for every age group. All these schools are within 3-4 miles. Doesn’t make sense and not affordable for a declining child base that has been going on for ten plus years. School taxes are over 50% of my tax bill and we need to make changes.
