I think the Cape May County Open space fund is a fantastic aspect of our county government. It demonstrates a commitment to preserving open space and improving the quality of life for residents and visitors alike. I am proud the open space fund exists, but I question how the money from the fund is allocated. For instance the money from the open space fund seems to go towards renovating existing parks, which has merit, but it would be great if some money was spent buying more parcels of land to add to the county's open space inventory, spare from development, and preserve for all to enjoy.
