I live in a senior HUD subsidized building in one of the wealthiest shore towns. Average rent $100 to $500 a month including utilities and parking. If a market rate 1 bedroom apartment can be found it will easily rent for $2500 plus utilities. Most of the residents have enormous assets that do not count toward income so they qualify for these HUD subsidies. If you don't want homeless in your county make sure legislators change federal law. HUD loans are easily given to religious owned and manged buildings and are not used for their intended purpose. NO ACCOUNTABILITY FOR TAXPAYER $$$$$
