I don’t know why anyone would go to college to be a teacher. The 60K starting salary is the incentive to become a teacher but it will take about 15 years to reach the top salary. New teachers have to work for 30 years and to age 65 before they can retire and collect their pension. That’s a long time and not enough money to put up with “all” the demands of being a teacher.
