I bet all the people griping about the teacher’s convention are the some people who use that time to take their teenagers away on family vacation even though they’ve committed to a high school varsity sport and this week is always playoff season. Also, they must not realize that teachers aren’t getting paid for these days off. A school year is 180 days of being IN school. If we did away with the break we’d just be getting out earlier in June. Would that be preferable? You have to be responsible for your kids at some point…why is November worse than June?
