The fact is, renewables will never be a reliable means of power generation until a viable method to store the power generated catches up. Massive amounts of battery storage systems, using potentially unstable chemicals is an accident waiting to happen in my opinion, and just like fields of Chinese solar panels, they are a huge waste of space. Imagine all the pollution caused by all this construction? Isn’t that what we are trying to prevent? Not to mention all the fumes spewed from heavy equipment, because to my knowledge, heavy equipment has not yet been electrified, and may never be.
