The clawback of improperly disbursed COVID money is coming. If you know anyone that thinks they received improper payments the best course of action might be to “Find” their “mistake” and send the money back before they get the letter. Once a demand letter is sent the clock starts ticking with interest. If they have to chase people the consequences will come with an investigation to determine criminality and if there is any the pokey is a distinct possibility.
