The beach Public speakers are a waste of taxpayer dollars. The ocean weather is too severe for that system to hold up well. The lifeguards have radios/ walkie talkies to keep them informed of what is going on. I recall a senior lifeguard would drive down beach Drive in a car with a loudspeaker telling cyclist to get off the boardwalk at 10 am. That method is much cheaper.
