$16,000,000 on an out of date beach replenishment project that the City of Cape May has only a $70,000 portion, sounds like a great deal for the City ! It’s certainly been a good run with low fiscal responsibility, however safety has NEVER been factored into these plans. Believe what you want, but a Lifeguard accident resulted in death, countless head and neck injuries and the City simply sweeps this under the rug. ACOE isn’t liable, how about a municipality that has been aware of the dangers for two decades. Injuries happen no doubt, but not naturally at this rate. Just ask the CMFD & CMBP.
