Burleigh - Let’s hope Donald Trump reduces the influence of Catholicism on our country and returns it to the Protestant religions. Rome has too much influence on our citizens. The founding fathers were NOT Catholic. Catholicism was brought here by Italian immigrants after our founding.

The first Catholic settlement was in 1565 in St Augustine Florida. Also, Maryland was founded by George Calvert who sought to provide a religious haven for Catholics persecuted in England .In 1632 the charter was granted .
