If he was great, then his support probably wouldn't be eroding. The other side may even notice eroding support, and they may publicize it, not that I care about the other side. If I cared about them, I doubt my preferred solution would be to vote for a guy our side supports halfheartedly. Makes no sense. We tried this before, not long ago. We listened to the party establishment. We lost. The other guys like to fall in line. Not us.
