Why are there hundreds of signs along Dune Drive?

Avalon - Why are there hundreds of signs along Dune Drive? Multiple signs about water projects, street crossing, bike riding, dog walking, parking, parking times, bright yellow signs with pictures of stick figures and so forth. A few signs may be necessary but multiple reminders make our town look cluttered and busy. What happened to the peaceful shore town look? Can we take a few duplicates down and make it look a little less cluttered?
