Is there any way that Townsend's Inlet Bridge can be permanently

Avalon - Is there any way that Townsend's Inlet Bridge can be permanently closed? The bridge is old and decrepit. Replacing it would be too expensive. When the bridge is closed, my neighborhood returns to the quiet community it was intended to be. Those from Stone Harbor and Sea Isle who pass through my community can just as easily use the Parkway. It would also improve our property values.
