Avalon - Republican Sen. Mitch McConnell set the stage, the example, for the Kavanaugh situation when he unfairly and unethically refused to allow a vote on Merrick Garland, Obama's nomination for the Supreme Court. For McConnell and Senate Republicans, the ends justified the means. They were willing to do whatever it took to deny Garland a seat on the bench. Now, Kavanaugh is accused of sexual misconduct, and the shoe is on the other foot. Republicans have no right to complain.
