Avalon - A recent Spout pointed out the fallacy of the NRA mantra "Criminals don't obey laws". We might ask, "How do people become criminals?". No-one is born a criminal. Babies do not come into this world with a criminal record. Babies do not arrive with a pistol holstered at their waist and a semi-automatic rifle in their hands. In fact, every person who commits a criminal act was a law-abiding citizen before committing the act. Thanks to the NRA's opposition to every gun-control law, the too-easy availability of guns provides considerable incentive for a person to commit an act of crime.
