Avalon - Please leave the skunks and cats alone. If anyone or anything is responsible for the dip in terrapin hatchlings, it's us human beings. Literally, give the turtles a "brake." That female terrapin crossing the road will bring more hatchlings. And if you can safely do so, go ahead and get out of your comfy car to help the poor girl safely get to the other side of the road, in the direction which she was headed. And the skunks need to eat, too. They don't drive cars, so at least you don't have to worry about them hitting terrapins on the roads.
