Avalon - With this last storm, and the high winds it had, we should reevaluate our practice of having to put our trash and recycling cans out on the street. Unless you live at the north end, your cans are exposed to storms for at least several days if you only frequent Avalon on the weekends. Our friends in Stone Harbor have side yard collection for weekend and year-round residents, and they love the convenience of not having to chase their trash and cans after they blow over. We could learn from their public works department that has been doing it for close to 40 years now. Hats off to you!
