Avalon - It's true: Some emissions are created in the process of building and charging EVs. However, according to the MIT Joint Program on the Science and Policy of Global Change, EVs are clearly a lower-emission option than internal combustion engine vehicles. Quoting the Deputy Director of the Program, "Electric cars are actually much, much better in terms of the impact on the environment in comparison to internal combustion vehicles". A 2019 study of EVs and non-EVs found that, on average, gasoline cars emit more than 33% more grams of CO2 per mile driven.
