Avalon - It is illegal for N.J. incumbent candidates running for public office to be featured/promoted in the newsletters of their town prior to an election. This is a great law because it prevents incumbents from using taxpayers to fund their campaigns, thus giving them an unfair, immense advantage over newcomers. It has been one year since Avalon's council members ran for reelection, and were prominently featured in the Avalon newsletter mailed to all property owners, and won. The N.J. State Election Board was notified of this bad violation one year ago and has been reminded of it several times since.
